La cremà, the night when the falles burn
In Denia not all the monuments burn at the same time. First the children’s falles and then the big ones are burned, all in a rigorous order depending on the prizes received. They burn first those who have received the last prizes and finally the winner of the 1st prize. Which allows the citizens and visitors to observe the cremà of several monuments. In fact, you just have to follow the people, who are heading for each other.
In the city there are 11 "fallas" neighborhoods, plus the monuments of the Junta Local Fallera, which does not enter into competition.
The burning has its art, it is preferable that it be done slowly, that the flames gradually consume the monument until it is visible its wooden structure that finally turns into ashes.
