WHAT ECOTOURISM MEANS? volver

ECOTOURISM is an environmentally responsible tourism modality, consisting of traveling to or visiting natural areas in order to enjoy, appreciate and study the natural attractions (landscape, wild flora and fauna) of these areas.

The objective of Ecotourism is to safeguard natural resources in the present so that future generations will also have the opportunity to enjoy them.

AMONG THE MANY CHARACTERISTICS OF ECOTOURISM, WE HIGHLIGHT THAT IT IS AN ACTIVITY:

Responsible for the use of tourist attractions so that it maintains its authentic conditions.

Respectful of the communities where the activities take place.

Educational for the visitor to acquire new knowledge of the place visited and / or species or phenomena observed.

Interactive by allowing direct contact with natural and cultural resources.

AS FOR THE ACTIVITIES RELATED TO ECOTOURISM, WE FIND:

Environmental Education Workshops in order to sensitize and make tourists aware of the importance of conserving the environment.

Ecosystem Observation to know the functions of each living organism and its habitat.

Observation of Fauna and / or Flora to know the behavior of animals and / or flora species in their natural environment.

Observation of Phenomena and Special Attractions of Nature such as meteor showers, passage of satellites or comets, solar or lunar eclipses, etc.

Interpretive Hiking: It is a natural space in the form of a path conditioned to be easily accessible through which visitors have the opportunity to walk in order to increase their knowledge of the natural environment.

Participation in Flora and / or Fauna Rescue Programs: Playful activities in a natural context whose main purpose is to participate in the rescue of endemic or endangered species or conservation in general, release of turtles, etc.
