and practical tips
There are two main ways to get to Dénia by train, taking advantage of both the TRAM and the Cercanías network:
Alicante Metropolitan TRAM (Line 9)
Line 9 of the TRAM directly connects Alicante and Dénia, passing through stations such as Benidorm, Altea, Calpe and Teulada. The complete route takes approximately 1 h 40-100 min, in modern tram-trains with several frequencies per day.
Combination Valencia-Gandía + bus to Dénia
From Valencia, you can take a Cercanías train (line C-1) to Gandía, and from there connect with an ALSA bus to Dénia.
This is a useful option if you prefer to leave Valencia and enjoy the train+bus stretch along the coast.
The bus station of Dénia is located at C/Mestre José Monjo Ferrer
ALSA offers connections between Dénia and the main Spanish cities.
Autocares Carrió offers connections between Dénia and municipalities in the Marina Alta region. It also links with the Portal de la Marina Shopping Center.
Autobuses Esteve connects Dénia with La Vall de Laguar, Pedreguer and Benidoleig.
Dénia has good bus connections from both Valencia and Alicante. The company ALSA operates regular routes from both cities, with several daily services and an approximate duration of between 1 h 30 min and 2 hours, depending on the departure point.
There are also buses from other nearby towns such as Jávea, Calp or Gandía, as well as urban lines that connect the center of Dénia with beach areas such as Les Marines or Les Rotes.
The bus station of Dénia located in C/Mestre Jose Moncho Ferrer is where the buses to other towns leave from (Alsa, Carrió, etc). Buses to the beaches and to the hospital leave from Explanada Cervantes, with different stops along their routes.
The maritime station is located on the north pier.
Connection between Dénia and the Balearic Islands with the company BALEARIA.
Dénia is a very well connected seaport offering direct routes to the Balearic Islands all year round:
Nearest airports
Alicante-Elche Hernández airport, located 100 km away.
València-Manises Airport, located 113 km away
Dénia does not have its own airport, but it is very well connected with two international airports nearby:
From both airports you can reach Dénia by car, bus, private transfer or rental car. The journey takes about an hour to an hour and a half, depending on traffic and the means of transport chosen.
It is a comfortable option if you arrive from other cities in Spain or from abroad, and allows you to combine the trip with other visits along the Mediterranean coast.
