Synopsis: In 1906, phylloxera and local political bosses fueled the American dream for thousands of inhabitants of the Marina Alta region and its surrounding areas. Even more than Algeria or Argentina, North America was, until 1920, the promised land for 15,000 Valencian emigrants, although a second wave occurred in the post-war period. Today, descendants of those pioneers recount the epic story of hundreds of families divided between two worlds.
