Cervantes Esplanade

The Cervantes Esplanade, located right in front of the port of Dénia, is a lively and emblematic pedestrian area, flanked by palm trees and surrounded by restaurants and terraces. It owes its name to the famous writer Miguel de Cervantes, who landed in these lands after his captivity in Algiers in 1580; a bust in his honor is located at the end of the promenade.

What makes it special

  • Passage and services area: main cab and local bus stop (beaches, etc), with direct access to the Museum of the Sea and some parking areas. The bike path is in front.
  • Children’s playground: at the end of the promenade you will find a children’s area with slides, swings and a padded floor, ideal for families.
  • Monuments: in addition to the bust of Cervantes, in the promenade we find the sculpture of the “conscience fish”, which raises awareness about the pollution of the sea. Also noteworthy is the “Monument to the Climate”, in front of the promenade, a sculpture of a woman that pays homage to the mild climate of the city.

Why visit it?
