Bancalet is much more than a collective brand: it is a declaration of love for the product of proximity, for the territory of the Marina Alta region and for the roots of the Mediterranean culture. Created to connect the entire food value chain, to raise awareness of the food heritage and preserve it. The Bancalet project guarantees the local origin, quality and sustainability of the food, products and services that carry this distinctive.
In its network of members you will find farmers, artisans, processors, stores, hospitality companies and tourist services. Consuming the Bancalet seal is to support an economy rooted in the territory and contribute to a model of responsible consumption.
The Dénia City Council, through the Office of Innovation and Creativity, develops the project “Dénia Creative City of Gastronomy by UNESCO” which includes the project “Dénia&Marina Alta Tasting Life”, among other functions.
The Dénia&Marina Alta Tasting Life project aims to increase the production and demand for fresh, seasonal, local and healthy food, rediscover gastronomic traditions and develop a new sense of food culture throughout the Marina Alta region.
Dénia’s cuisine is a faithful reflection of the Mediterranean diet, recognized by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Here, eating well is not a fashion, it is a way of life. A balanced, healthy and tasty way of relating to food, the environment and culture.
Extra virgin olive oil, seasonal fruits and vegetables, fresh fish, legumes, cereals, nuts, homemade bread, aromatic herbs… The basis of the Mediterranean diet is found every day in the homes, markets and restaurants of Dénia.
