In the heart of the city, the Municipal Market of Dénia is much more than a place to shop: it is a space where daily life beats, where tradition, quality and proximity intersect. From early in the morning, its stalls offer a wide variety of fresh and local products, with special emphasis on fish, seafood, fruits, vegetables, meat, sausages, bread and homemade sweets.
Here you can find the best of the Mediterranean diet, products with Bancalet seal and a close attention from those who know their trade. In addition, the market has become a gastronomic point of reference thanks to its bars, cafes and spaces where you can taste tapas, have lunch or a glass of wine in good company.

History:
The Municipal Market of Dénia has been a meeting place for neighbors and traders for more than seventy years. Until the mid-twentieth century, the meeting place was in the Glorieta, at the end of Marqués de Campo street.
It was in 1955 when the current market was built, in the center of the city, a must visit to breathe the day to day life of the city.
Dénia has managed to maintain the charm of the traditional markets, a place where we have to let ourselves be advised by those who work the sea and the land with their own hands.
Recently events such as the “Nit de la Llum” (Night of Light) or the “Concurso Creativo de la Gamba Roja de Dénia” (Dénia Red Prawn Creative Contest) are held every year in the Mercat, enhancing its own natural attraction.
