Dénia Red Prawn International Creative Cooking Competition

March 24, 2026 at the Municipal Market located on Magallanes Street.

With an exceptional jury, this contest began its journey in 2012 and since then its fame has been growing. Its essential values are the respect for the product -the Dénia Red Prawn-, its presentation, taste and its importance in the dish.

Organizers: Association of Hotel and Tourism Entrepreneurs of the Marina Alta (AEHTMA) with the collaboration of the City Council of Dénia.

Venue: Municipal Market of Dénia

Duration: One morning.

Edition: Annual.

Edition 2026: XIV edition, March 24, 2026.

Participants: The number of selected cooks is very limited (usually around 8 participants), as specified in the rules of participation, chosen from among all the applications after a selection process.
Access: Free of charge.

Development: The participants in the contest cook in view of the attendees, among which are citizens, tourists and press. Apart, in another nearby environment is located the jury, which behind closed doors are receiving the dishes and tasting them for scoring. After the tasting of the dishes of all the participants by the jury, the jury deliberates and the prizes are awarded.

This is a firm commitment of the public-private sector to achieve greater recognition and dissemination of the gastronomic product and also enable the launch and promotion of young chefs who are committed to creative cuisine.
