Cinema Route

The Film Route offers a walking tour through the real scenarios where about twenty films and several television episodes have been filmed in the last 60 years. Conceived as a cultural walk, this experience shows how Dénia has been the protagonist of the seventh art, hosting shootings in its port, its old town and its emblematic seaside neighborhood.

What to see in the itinerary

  • Spaces where films such as Captain Jones (1958), Captain Blood’s Son (1961), Cervantes (1966), Son de Mar (2001) were shot.
  • Urban buildings that maintain their original envelope or have hardly been modified (e.g., Marqués de Campo, Plaza del Convento).
  • Historical elements such as the old facade of the cinema, emblematic portals and castle walls.

Tips for the visit

  • Bring comfortable shoes and water to keep you active as you make your way through the downtown streets.
  • Photograph exteriors as they look today and compare with historical film images.
  • Visit the route during the day to allow the appreciation of facades and monuments.
