The Riurau Market is an initiative that seeks to boost the local economy, support small farmers and producers in the area and offer neighbors and visitors a sustainable and environmentally friendly trade alternative.
Seasonal fruits and vegetables, grown on terraces in the region, homemade bread and jams, traditional cakes and pastries, oil and wine, are some of the products that can be bought and tasted. The offer is dynamic and adapts to the cycles of nature.
Traditional craft stalls are also present, and the cultural activities held every Sunday give it the festive spirit of a village square.

FreeIn Jesús Pobre, sheltered by the mountains and surrounded by centuries-old vineyards, one of the most emblematic rural constructions of the Marina Alta is preserved: the Riurau del Senyoret. Much more than an architectural jewel, this riurau is a symbol of traditional agricultural life and the legacy of generations who cultivated the land with wisdom and respect.
Built between 1848 and 1873, the riurau was designed with a very specific and vital purpose for the local economy: to protect the muscatel grapes during the drying process, preventing rain from ruining the future raisin. Its structure with ten double-sided bell-shaped arches allowed the grapes to be ventilated and at the same time protected, becoming an authentic open-air workshop for the production of one of the most appreciated products of the region.
During the cold months, the riurau also served as a storage area for agricultural tools and equipment, making it a versatile and essential space in the day to day life in the countryside.
Today, this historic construction continues to fulfill its ancestral function every year during the “L’Escaldà” festival – held on the last Sunday in August – when the village gathers to relive the ancient process of scalding grapes in an emotional tribute to its roots.
In addition, the Riurau remains a meeting place and local activity. Every Sunday, it comes to life with the Mercat del Riurau, where you can discover organic products, crafts and local flavors. And on the first Sunday of every month, it becomes a paradise for vintage lovers with the Fira de Brocanters, an antiques and collectibles fair with authentic charm.
The Riurau del Senyoret is not just a building: it is living history, rural culture and shared heritage.
Its original name is Gran Riurau del Senyor de Benissadevi. It is currently known as the riurau del Senyoret or riurau de Jesús Pobre.
