Cova de L’Aigua – Racó del Bou

ACCESSIBILITY: From the town center of Dénia, Jaume I square, we access by the road Pou de la Muntanya to the Ermita del Pare Pere. 100 meters up the dirt road begins where we will find an information panel next to a chain that prevents the passage of motor vehicles. Continue walking and turn left at the fork of the Camino de la Colonia. A few meters later we leave this road and take to the right the ascending path towards the Cova de l’Aigua. We pass through the shady area of the Montgó, declared a micro-reserve, where there is a great variety of plant species, some endemic and endangered.

We have to walk exclusively along the path, avoiding impacts. We arrived at the entrance of the cave after overcoming some considerable steps and found 3 compartments of different times to dam water. Only the initial sector of the cave is accessible. It is necessary to carry a flashlight. It is common for the cave to flood after heavy rains.
