This route combines a pleasant stretch of the Dénia Greenwaywith two elements of great natural and heritage value: the Torre de L’Almadrava, an old coastal watchtower from the 16th century, and the Alberca River, one of the few rivers in the municipality that flows directly into the sea at Els Molins Beach.
The itinerary begins at the junction of the Greenway “Dénia-El Verger” with the Camí del Palmar. From there, you can easily link up with the Torre de L’Almadrava, located near the coast, in a quiet environment that preserves the rural character of the landscape. The tower was part of the coastal defense system against pirates, and today is a standing witness to the maritime history of the area.
Note to reach the junction: Starting the route in Dénia, the junction of the Greenway with the Camí del Palmar is approximately 5 Kms along the greenway.
Continuing east, the route connects with the mouth of the Alberca River, a small wetland area that hosts birds and vegetation typical of wetlands. It is an ideal place to take a break, observe nature and enjoy the contrast between the agricultural environment and the coastline.
