Know, appreciate, visit and take care of the protected natural areas of Dénia.

  • Relax on the beaches of Dénia knowing its high ecological value, its habitats and protected areas: dunes protected by its flora and fauna, presence of the kentish plover, presence of Posidonia Oceanica in its waters and on the beach.
  • Meet the Posidonia Oceanica, the lungs of the Mediterranean. Thanks to it, the sea is full of life and the beach is more protected against erosion. This plant has flowers and fruits.
  • Walk the routes of the Montgó Natural Park. The Natural Park occupies a large part of the Montgó mountain, with more than 650 species of flora. It is a Special Protection Area for Birds, Special Conservation Area and Site of Community Interest. Its trails lead you to natural caves and to the summit itself. Choose the routes according to the difficulty that suits you. Follow the trails and rules of the Park.
  • Snorkel in the Marine Reserves of Cabo San Antonio. You will be surprised by the rich underwater life. Follow the rules and uses of the reserves. They are protected areas with restrictions.
  • It recognizes the micro-reserves of flora in the coves of Les Rotes and in the Montgó Natural Park.
  • Practice outdoor activities with zero carbon footprint, such as kayaking, paddle-surfing, windsurfing, hiking, bicycle touring, etc. Let yourself be guided by sports and active tourism professionals.

How to be a sustainable tourist

Dispose of waste in the garbage cans as well as in the containers differentiated by type of waste (waste, paper, packaging and glass). You will find numerous garbage cans and containers in Dénia.

For other types of waste, use the mini clean points that are in various areas (Calle La Vía, confluence of C/Patricio Ferrándiz with C/Carlos Sentí, confluence of C/Ronda Murallas with Avenida del Cid, Avenida Joan Fuster, Paseo del Saladar, etc.) and the mobile Ecoparque. For large waste, it must be taken to the ecopark.

Brand “Parcs Naturals de la Comunitat Valenciana“:

Mark granted by the General Directorate responsible for the management of Natural Areas to natural products, craft products and nature tourism activities, obtained, produced and provided within the area of socio-economic influence of the Natural Parks of the Valencian Community.

Dénia is home to accommodation and nature tourism companies. The distinctive mark highlights the fact that they have received training to improve information, knowledge, and involvement with the Natural Area, in this case the Montgó Natural Park, in carrying out their activities, and consequently improve the tourist offer, as well as promote the consumption of local products certified with the Mark.

  • The cyclist must ALWAYS carry his or her documentation (identity card or passport).
  • Traffic regulations must be observed. These rules and the signage found along the route will ALWAYS prevail over the routes and tracks in this information.
  • You must drive responsibly and respectfully towards other road users and without having consumed alcohol or drugs.
  • The use of helmets is mandatory.
  • Cell phones must not be used while driving. The use of headphones to listen to music is also prohibited.
  • You should ride in single file or two by two. And always, if possible, on the shoulder or, in its absence, as far to the right as possible.
  • It is forbidden to drive on highways or freeways. It is advisable to be seen in low visibility situations.
  • The group of cyclists may be accompanied by a properly marked vehicle (sign V-22).
  • The environment must be respected. No packaging or waste should be thrown away.
